Anytime you plan to do anything remarkable the opposite of what you intend to do shows up in your space. I’m not quite sure exactly the reason for this but I do have a theory.
My theory is that without the opposite of anything you can’t know what that opposite thing is much less have the experience.
The opposing force is always lurking behind the scenes waiting to sabatoge your intentions. Think of something that you’ve wanted to do recently that you thought was an absolutely fantastic idea. Did everyone agree with you? Did everyone think you should move forward? Did you get some people who had funny looks on their faces? Not only does the resistance come from others but it also originates from within.
On May 15, 2009 I decided to take this Internet marketing thing more seriously. I took my first only Internet marketing course in which I paid over $1,000 for a 12 week course on how to sell information online. I learned a lot but as of the writing of this post I’ve made one sale to the tune of $26.51. Now most people would be discouraged because it appears as though I am on the losing end. Also, it is important to note that this so called guru guaranteed that everyone would earn $1,500 in 45 days or get their money back. That surely didn’t happen for me.
Actually, I’m a winner in a very big way. Having taken that one course opened my eyes to a world I never knew before. It has lead me to go on and create several niche websites. It has exposed me to a higher level of thinking. Most of us are afraid to go out on a limb and try something new. I knew this wasn’t a get rich quick scheme. I knew this would take some dedicated focus of at least a year before I would start to reap the major rewards. This time next year I will be earning a minimum of a five figure paycheck online in my boxer shorts. I’m in it for the long haul. I’m a freaking manic for success.
I know that I have some unconscious programs undermining my intent. Does this Internet marketing stuff really work? Is it possible for me to get hundred’s of people to my websites everyday and have a few of them buy? I’m a technophobe. Making money like this is too easy. Should I really sell information at 10x of what it cost me to create? I’m not an expert on that subject. The inner chatter never seems to stop.
Most of us don’t realize that we have these unconscious saboteurs in our life. We think that there is some outside force that keeps us in mediocrity. Wherever you see lack you can bet your last dollar that there is some resistance around a particular area of your life.
We have become maniacs for mediocrity rather than for success. Become aware of whatever is holding you back and push through it. You can reprogram yourself and begin to silence the negative programs.
Each of us are fighting our own battles. If your losing then it might be time for you to take a serious look at your belief system. It may be wise for you to reexamine your behaviors. It may be time for you to pay close attention to your emotional IQ. It may be time for you to dig up and resolve those major issues you shoved under the carpet years ago. It just may be time for you to excavate those unconscious programs.
Until you do the above expect to get your A#@ kicked every time.
That’s my spin on it.
