CommentLuv, DoFollow Blog, Keyword Luv!

by rbenns on December 1, 2009

PluginsLooking for regular “follow” links to your blog or website?  These blog features top commentator, keyword luv and comment luv which reward visitors for leaving quality comments with backlinks.  By removing the no follow it will also help commentators get quality backlinks.

CommentLuv is a WordPress plugin.

For those of you that didn’t know, this site is powered by WordPress.  WordPress is a blog publishing platform that makes fairly simple to manage and maintain a blog.

A WordPress plugin, is a small addon that gives a blog additional functionality.  There are many WordPress plugins available that will allow you to put your WordPress Blog on steroids.

CommentLuv was created to grow the blogging community and encourage more interaction between bloggers and their subscribers.

This is  the breakdow of how it works.  When CommentLuv is enabled on a blog, the checkbox and CommentLuv icon is activated on each blog post.  When a user leaves a comment on one of my blog posts, the plugin automatically goes out and searches their blog for the latest post. If it finds one, it automatically adds a titled link at the end of the comment which links back to their post.

This can work out well for both parties.

By having CommentLuv enabled on my site, I hope that it encourages silent visitors to comment that may otherwise leave without ever letting us hear their voice.  More importantly I hope a comment opens up a deeper conversation and that people will not simply give a spam comment. (of course we won’t approve those)

The visitor who left the comment wins as well.  If they are running their own blog, they have now created a link back to their website.  Hopefully this linking process benefits them in the search engines.  It will also allow my other readers the ability to see what the person who left the comment is blogging about and if they are interested, I hope they will visit the link.

If you have a WordPress blog, I highly recommend installing CommentLuv.

I know some feel threatened to send traffic away from their site. I believe I am providing great content and that you will visit my blog again to read more.

Key Word Luv and Top Commentator work in much the same fashion.

Please note:

All low quality links will immediately be deleted as they add no authority to the blog’s content.   Simply add quality content to the original post and stay on topic and your post is guaranteed to get approved.

What’s an example of a bad post?  “Hi Rickey this is a great looking site.  Thanks Paul.”

What’s and example of a good post? “I was broke for most of my life until one day I decided that I wasn’t going to take it any longer.  I change my financial habits and today I can say that I am making $20,000 per month and I’m completely debt free.”

So in good harmony let’s spread the luv.

Thank you for the post. I am a believer in this awesome plugin, KeywordLuv. I hope more will join in the fun. I think you are correct in saying more will likely comment. I don't think people should feel threatened by leaving your site. You have excellent content, and people are sure to come back. Keep up the good work.

I'm a website developer with a few dozen sites built for corporate clients. All my WP sites have CommentLuv installed and are Dofollow for very simple reasons – these features attract comment activity, and, they result in higher rank and visibility.

The benefit to me is an enhanced reputation for active, high-ranking sites :-)

As I'm able I convince my clients with custom-built php sites to convert to or add a WordPress blog, to which I then add CommentLuv and Dofollow features.
As I'm able I add

Hi Ricky,
CommentLuv is a great plugin, but it doesn't do any good unless you also turn the default nofollow off in your comments. I use the dofollow plugin in WordPress, but I believe the newest version of CommentLuv also accomplishes this without a second plugin.

You can use this tool
http://seomy.net/tools/link-analyzer
(put a url from your site that has comments on it) and you can see that all of your comments on this blog are nofollow!

Hope this helps!
