I made a decision to NOT be those things! It was that simple. So I find myself valuing family, coaching my kids sports, not arguing or fighting with my wife and not touching cigs or alcohol. Now it is a fight...In fact I am at odds with my parents now. When they give me advice about how to raise my kids, I tell them, politely that I do not believe they are the best position to give advice...unless they are telling me what not to do.
