Be honest with yourself, your job or boss is not the way to manifest prosperity. It never was and it never will be. Of course everyone’s definition of prosperity will be different but that still doesn’t invalidate my claim. A job was never designed for this purpose but so many employees believe that it was and this is exactly what your employer wants you to think.
A job in my humble opinion is a training ground to help catapult you to do greater things. It’s a means to and end. It’s a place where you make mistakes fast, you learn, you grow and then you move on. Stop treating it like its the end all be all. Why do you think companies such as IBM are no longer in existence today and will never be again? Because the model was flawed in the first place.
Your boss doesn’t care about you. He pays you to do a job and that’s it. Just the other day I was in the grocery store and I overheard a manager tell one of his employees, “Hey, I know you are concerned about that test you have tomorrow but I really need you to remained focused while you are here at work.” Is he really concerned about his employee’s grades? I think not. He is concerned about his bottom line profits and maybe his customers as it should be.
If all you got was a 2.5% raise this year don’t complain because that’s more than they wanted to give you anyway. If you got nothing even with a stellar performance and hitting all your numbers, don’t complain because its as it should be. Anything extra that you receive, while being employed, is just icing on the cake because that’s not the real reason for being there. If you keep this in mind and prepare yourself for the day of your eventual departure you will navigate the employee/employer relationship just fine. If you forget to implement this sage wisdom you will live to regret it. It may take 5, 10 or even 15 years but you will someday regret that you didn’t heed my warning.
The true way to manifest prosperity is to allow your inherent gifts to be born. I’ve said this before, you have a set of unique gifts that the world is waiting for. There are many people that would gladly exchange their money for your unique gifts. The money that this group of people are willing to pay you is at least tenfold what you are currently earning on your job. Will you exercise the courage that is needed to find out what your unique gifts are?
