Joeisms

Today is the birthday of a good friend of mine name Joe.  Anyone who has ever met Joe instantly becomes enraptured by his youthful look and his infectious smile.  We’ve been friends since high school and boy do I have many fond memories of our unforgettable escapades.  His friendship has meant more to me than he can possibly ever know.

Joe had these sayings that I believe were handed down to him by his father that were laced with heavenly wisdom.  Joe Jr. as we called him or Joe Jr. from the butcher pen is a divine soul whose presence you cannot miss if you’ve ever had the chance to meet him.

‘Joeisms’ are wise words or phrases that stop you dead in your tracks and cause you to think about life in the moment.  They could have many interpretations depending on the individual listening but one thing for sure they will certainly knock you right back into the present moment where the gift is.

Here are a few “Joeisms’

- “If you see me and a bear in the woods you better give the bear the gun” (Joe’s reminder to me on being fearless)

-”Ah man, that ain’t nothing” (Joe letting me know don’t sweat the small stuff and its all small stuff)

-”He couldn’t crush a grape with iron boots on” (Joe saying that someone was all hat and no cattle or all talk and no action)

-”State your business son” (Joe imploring me to make something happen)

-”I’m Joe Jr. from the butcher pen” (Joe saying don’t let the smooth taste fool you because I will f%&! you up)

Thank you Joe for being my friend.  If I am half as good of friend to others as you’ve been to me, the world will be a much better place to live.

Happy Birthday Joe and many more.

Your best friend, Rick

That’s my spin on it.
