I’m talking about cash money. I’m talking about gas money. I’m talking about that green stuff, the mean green and that almighty dollar. Let me tell you this as I’ve said it before when it comes to money “you’ve got it all backwards.”
You stress over it. You cheat over it. You rob over it. You trade sex for it. You waste away in cubicle for it. I think I best heard it said that you have mistakenly identified money, the actual money, as the thing of value. Thus, you chase after money and money runs away from you time and time again.
Money is not real. Money in and of itself has no intrinsic value. The money in your pocket or your purse has no meaning unless you exchange it for something you deem valuable. Well it would stand to reason that if you exchange money for something you deem valuable that the way to get money from others is to provide something of value to them.
When you think of value is money the only thing that comes to mind? There are things such as connections, friendships, music, health, and the arts that I find far more valuable than money. Why do you want the money anyway? More than likely it is to exchange it for something else that you feel you do not yet possess. Byron Katie says that we always have just as much money as we need. That last sentence has much wisdom so I’d hope that you ponder it just a little while.
Asking how you can bring value to someone’s life is a far better question than how can I earn more money? When you ask better questions you get better answers. Believe me when you ask the first question you’ll find no shortage of people who need your value.
If you don’t have all the money you desire now its simply because you are providing enough value. Also, you don’t get to determine what is valuable – we do. When you understand what I’m saying to you the money will show up (in abundance) at your doorstep and it will seem effortless on your part.
Ignore my warning and you will die a very poor man or woman. You need more money. Bullshit.
That’s my spin on it.
