Shit And Whip Cream

I choose to use the terms Life, Universe and God interchangeably.  I once heard that balance doesn’t exist and if you’re seeking balance in your life you’ll never find it.  Perhaps the only balance that you will find is in death

Things in my life are always in a constant state of ebb and flow.  My life is constantly changing.  I resist of lot of the change that happens.  When a relationship with a best friend of over 25 years changes form I resist.  When a romantic interlude of 8 years transitions into a new form I resist.  When new learning fails to come easy for me I resist staying the course and want to give up.  I like the familiarity because its comfortable or so it seems.  I’ve risked remaining the same even though it was quite painful because I was afraid of the unfamiliar.

I am coming to realize that when life gives you shit you’d better learn to mix in a little whip cream.  On the contrary, when life gives you whip cream look for the shit because its on the way.  While someone thinks I’m a saint there’s someone near by calling me a sinner.  Somebody thinks my actions are divine and another views them as diabolical.  Life is constantly stirring it up and for good reason.  There is no growth in a state of inertia.  Life muscles can only grow when they’re exercised.  We are growth seeking beings and anytime we are not growing we are decaying.  Not growing resembles a flower who has remained in the budding stage for too long until it becomes painful.

Shit is not better than whip cream and vice versa.  It just is what it is.  It’s all my perspective and I get to decide what I want to call it or if I want to call it anything at all.  The shit and whip cream are mere tools propelling me forward to my greatest journey.
