The Corridor Principle

The Corridor Principle 150x150 The Corridor PrincipleImagine you are standing at one end of a corridor and along each side are doors.  Each one of these doors holds a gift for you.  It is the gift of the unknown.

You stand paralyzed because you fear taking your first step down the corridor because you do not know what it beholds.

Days, months and years pass by and you still stand there rotting as life passes you by.  You stand there hoping, wishing and praying that someone would just walk ahead of you and let you know what lurks behind each door so you can feel safe to begin your journey.

But this is your corridor and absolutely no one is allowed to walk down your hall to experience what is behind the doors but you.  The gifts have been designed especially for you but you do not realize that gifts lurk behind the doors because one of the rules is that you only can know the contents when you begin walking.  In fact, the gifts lie dormant until you move.  No movement…no gifting.

I refer to this as the “corridor principle.”  It simply says that nothing happens until someone moves.  The universe is marvelous in its simplicity.  You take one baby step and it takes one giant step.  Once you begin to walk all sorts of things will appear that you never imagined.  How could you imagine such gifts from your limited perspective?

All things in the universe are moving.  Nothing exists on the planet that is not moving in some fashion.  Movement has boldness, genius and magic in it.  Not being afraid is not acceptable for not moving.  You feel the fear, embrace the fear and you move anyway.  How else can you get your gifts?

The further you venture down the corridor the more exciting your life becomes.  The gifts just continue to get bigger and better.  The lights become brighter the further you move down the corridor.  You actually begin to walk with a certain swagger the more you walk because you realize the boogie man you thought took camp inside the rooms has all been self-created.

There are those who are walking while others are talking.  Those that are walking ain’t doing much talking and those that are talking aren’t doing much walking.  Those that are talking are trying to get others to do their walking for them.  Only you can walk your walk so get to walking and talk less.

That’s my spin on it.

The corridor can sometimes be a dark frightening place. That is until you start to place one foot ahead of the other. Then it becomes like the MJ video Billie Jean where every step illuminates your path.
