The Sinner and The Saint

by rbenns on July 9, 2009

Sinner Or SaintAre we all divine beings of Light?  Have you ever heard the saying, “without you there is no me and visa versa?”  Is it true?  Can the who that I AM exist without You?

These are all very complex questions with a wide range of viewpoints.  Here’s my spin.

Each and every person is Light.  Everyone that I encounter is divinity. Reverend Ike use to say that even when you’re acting a fool, you’re still God acting a fool.  Therefore, even in your distressing disguise you are a perfect being of Light.

I know this may sound like a lot of mumbo jumbo so let me put it in layman’s terms. You are not better or worse than your neighbor regardless of your transgressions.  You are not above or beneath anyone regardless of your financial status.  We each are playing cosmic roles in life while residing in earth school.  Some of us have chosen to be the villains and some of us have opted in for sainthood.

Why would anyone choose to be villain you may ask?  The operative word in this case is the word “choose.”  One would choose to be a villain in order that you might be a saint.  If we were all saints, how would you know saints as a concept much less as an experience?

For example, without Joe Jackson playing his role as an abusive father and a over the top disciplinarian would there be a Michael Jackson?  One behavioral choice begets a defined action.  Now one could argue that Michael Jackson would still have been the Michael Jackson that we love, remember and respect but I don’t think so.  Even if I did buy into the theory that it could be the other way around there would be no way to know for sure.

I don’t come from a capricious God who leaves things up to chance.  Things happen because that’s the way they were meant to happen.  How can I know this for sure? …because they happened that way.

In each of our lives we have been both the sinner and the saint, the diabolical and the divine.  The things I abhor in you I must look within to see how I harbor those same dislikes about myself.  If I don’t find them then I must look deeper still.

You may not always resemble Light.  You may not always show up in a loving way.  You may not always vibrate at the highest frequency.  You may not always remember who you are.  But you can never disconnect your being from Source.  You can never not be God.  You may be off center or out of alignment but never disconnected.

Yes, divinity is your nature.  It is your birthright. It is your essence.  It is you.

That’s my spin on it.
