We live in two worlds. In one world we suffer and in the other we don’t. What are these two worlds you may ask? The first world is a world in where we wish things were one and they’re not. The second world is the real world which is the way things are not as we wish them to be.
We often feel that the real world is the toughest to navigate and this is mainly because we are all wrapped up in the prison of our own mind. Bryon Katie says that when you argue with ‘what is’ you lose 100% of the time. Things are as they should be and arguing with reality is a futile attempt.
Things don’t happen to you they happen for you. Accepting this as true is difficult to swallow when you don’t question your thoughts. When you get out of your head and investigate your story about what is on paper then spontaneous illumination occurs every time. You will often discover that the situation that you were struggling with is quite hilarious when investigated.
And this to shall pass is some powerful wisdom but I feel that too many of us including myself don’t embrace this message sincerely. Next time something happens for you look for the gift(s). It won’t be easy but it will be worth it.
That’s my spin on it.
