There are so many things in life that we cling to. We cling to our mates, our cars, our children, our jobs, our positions, our money, our titles and our money. I believe that you have not truly lived until you are willing to let go of everything. I believe that when we are willing to let go of everything then we are free. We are free to have more intimate relationships with our mates. We are free to have more meaningful relationships with our kids. We are free to invite more money into our lives.
Clinging and resisting is unattractive. It creates stress. It robs you of your joy. The fear of losing actually clouds your ability to see clearly. You have to be willing to “lose” everything to free your mind. It is the only way to restore yourself to pure joy which is your original state.
Letting go is never a physical thing, it’s a mental thing. Letting go is willingness. It’s a willingness to know and to trust that life brings you nothing but gifts. It’s a willingness to know that however life turns out for you is just right for your evolution and growth. If you truly believed that you’d always be all right would you ever have any trouble letting go? Nothing in life can be threatening when you don’t resist. Where’s the tug when there’s no one on the opposite side of the rope?
Many refuse to let go because they don’t want to feel the hurt. Refusing to feel the hurt is another part of resistance. When you immerse yourself in the hurt you grow. When you avoid the hurt you remain stagnate only to repeat the process over again and again. The hurt is your ally not your enemy. All pain has a gestation period and we must be willing to allow it to run its course. This too shall pass just as darkness gives way to the light.
Are you willing? Are you willing to live without all the answers to your most perplexing problems? Not knowing can be a place of self-discovery.
I’ve noticed the things that I feel I can’t live without are just the things that teach me the most about my real self. The real self is that which never changes, all else are merely constructs of the mind.
