What’s Your Theme?

success 150x150 Whats Your Theme?Every book has a theme.  Every business has a culture or theme.  Every family has a theme.  Every life has a theme.

A theme is a familiar pattern that keeps showing up.  A theme is a mantra.  A theme is a way of living.  A theme is a particular mindet or programming.  A theme is a belief system.  A theme is to life what landscaping is to a lawn.

One thing that I’ve noticed about the themes in my life is that they are very consistent.  Once a theme has become entrenched it’s nearly impossible to change.  I say nearly impossible because most of us don’t even recognize our personal themes.  Our themes are mostly hidden from our view.  It appears that outsiders see our themes oh so clearly.

Themes can be destructive.  Themes are stubborn.  Themes are neutral.  Themes are transient.  Themes are consistent.  There’s always a dominant theme in our life.

If you choose to be a blue theme today where you exude peace, joy, love and serenity then the blue theme will oblige.  On the other hand, if you choose to be a red theme filled with envy, anger and hatred the red theme will let you have your way.  If you’re hell bent on being the destructive theme today then detroy you will experience.

I’ve also found that even though once you adopt a theme it’s quite difficult to change it is possible.  For me, the first thing I had to do was find a way to step outside my chosen theme.  Next, I had to decide if my chosen theme was getting me the results that I desired.  Then I had to go searching within for a new theme that would serve my highest good.  Finally, I had to select my new theme and start familiarizing myself with my new and improved look.

You owe it to yourself and humanity to improve the look and feel of your theme.  I’ve worn the self-destructive theme far too long to continue to display such an unappealing array of colors.  I’m in the process of shedding my old skin like a snake so that I can be the magnificent being I was meant to be.

That’s my spin on it.
